Wireless Device Support
In addition to full security
and protocol conversion, the Gateways also provide the ability to
support multiple terminals through the same unit. The following
sections detail the support available with the Wireless Connector
and Consolidator Series. Since each port is separate, the Gateways
offer significant flexibility for device connection. The ability
to spread the cost of the Gateway and the connection over several
devices can help justify a wider implementation.
Multiple Ethernet Devices
The Gateways are full
Linux routers, supporting DHCP, DNS and a Firewall. The Gateway
can support multiple Ethernet connected devices, allowing them to
share a single cell modem account.
Multiple Serial Devices
The Gateway
C202/C252 provides complete host emulation for the selected Legacy
protocol. The C202 can convert the data from up to 30 devices to
TCP for transfer to the host.
Multiple Devices – Separate
Connections
Each Gateway port is independent, which allows several devices
to be supported on the same unit. In this diagram, the C200/C250
provides a connection for ATMs using Ethernet and RS-232C
