G1000 RAS Card Specifications
The G1000 RAS (Remote Access Server) adapter
supports many different async protocols. This card can be installed in
a G1000 Model D, E or F. The G1000 RAS is a PCI-based card that provides
a T1 or ISDN pri interface. There are two different cards available: G1000 RAS-1 which supports
one T1 link and up to 24 separate channels and the G1000 RAS-2 which supports two T1 links and up
to 48 separate channels.
Each T1 or ISDN link is divided into 24
channels with a top speed of 56 KB for each channel. The individual channel speed is
negotiated at connect time (in the same manner as a modem) or can be hard coded at setup.
A wide variety of async protocols are
available for the G1000, allowing many different types of devices to be connected. The primary
usage of the RAS Card is supporting Visa protocol POS and ATM terminals.
