G1000 MPC and MOD Specifications

The G1000 MPC system supports several different async protocols. This card can be installed in any G1000. The G1000 MPC consists of a plug-in card and an external module. The card provides an interface to the Gateway 1000 and the module provides the cable connections.

The external module provides 16 DB-25 connectors with each connector supporting speeds up to 115 kbps. Up to three additional modules (G1000-MOD) can be cascaded off the first module, supporting up to 64 connections per G1000 MPC card.

Like the other Async expansion cards available from JBM, the async protocols supported by the G1000 MPC are processed by the G1000's main processor. If several G1000 MODs are cascaded from the original system, we recommend that a pentium-based system (G1000-D, E or F) be used. This will provide sufficient processor capability to support the normal G1000 functions and differrent async protocols. If you are have any questions about system sizing, please contact us.
