Gateway 700 Network Diagram
The G700 interfaces Legacy protocol devices to a Frame Relay or
X.25 network. The G700 converts the data from serial devices using
RS-232C at speeds up to T1/E1. The Legacy equipment can be directly
attached or modem connected.
The G700 can support 100 addresses in any combination of controller/terminal.
The individual addresses are mapped to TCP/IP sessions for transfer
through the Frame Relay network. The G800 supports host and terminal
emulation for a wide variety of Legacy protocols and Client or Server
emulation for TCP or UDP.
The G700
provides a T1 port for connection to the WAN network, one serial port
for support of the Legacy devices and a 10/100BaseT port for IP devices.
The Gateways
can be ordered with Frame Relay connections using an internal or
external DSU. The Gateway 900 provides the same port configuration
as the Gateway 800 but has an integrated T1/E1 DSU. With the frame
connection, the Gateways provide a complete router replacement with
full protocol conversion.
