With this application, the remote POS device dials a local X.25 PAD. The PAD encapsulates the Visa data and transmits it to a Gateway 1000 at the central site. The G1000 provides the X.25 support and Visa host emulation. The data is converted to TCP/IP or any of the supported LAN, WAN or serial protocols. The Visa terminal connection is mapped to a specific host address.
