Company History

JBM Electronics began operations in 1975 as a custom engineering and manufacturing company. Our initial products covered a wide range of applications from industrial controllers through data communications. Over the years, our customers have continued to ask for solutions to their networking problems. We have maintained this custom focus as we have introduced new products built around standard networking environments. Successful from our inception, JBM Electronics was recognized by INC. magazine as one of the top 500 privately held U.S. firms for three successive years. At JBM Electronics, we've specialized in both single and multiport protocol converters for IBM, Unisys, DEC and Tandem, as well as compatible multiplexers, line drivers and modem sharing units.

In the 1980s, we continued to expand our sales and products through direct and indirect channels into overseas markets, Canada, Mexico, and Latin/South America. In 1988, JBM Electronics moved to our current facility where all operations including research and development, engineering, sales and administration, technical support, and manufacturing are based. With our standard support for 30+ protocols, JBM Electronics' products serve customers in a variety of industries and fields including banking/financial services, education, retail, manufacturing, computer services and government.

JBM Electronics successfully re-engineered its focus in response to the mainframe market evolution driven by the proliferation of LANs and WANs in the 1990s. We utilized our expertise in protocol conversion to develop new products that address connectivity requirements at remote sites. Such products include TCP/IP, Ethernet and Token Ring, Frame Relay and ISDN, and offer control through Telnet and SNMP. JBM Electronics now provides our customers cost-effective means to migrate into new network topologies.

With our dedicated attention to our customers' specific needs, JBM Electronics now fills a unique niche in the migration of legacy protocol applications to both current and future network topologies. In most cases, no host or terminal software modification is needed for true "plug-and-play" operations. Our standard support of legacy protocols covers the range of unique host or terminal protocols from text manipulation to unique character translations or special log-on sequences. JBM Electronics also provides custom work to support a unique host or terminal protocol code. With more than 20 years experience in exceeding customer expectations, we can help you with the network challenges you face.
